Happy Valentines Day

Okay, I have to be honest with you because I told you I would. I had a soda today. Things have been crazy the last few days. On Friday, we found out that Hayden had strep and the flu. He felt awful all day Friday and all day Saturday. On Sunday afternoon, Canaan fell down in the woods on a pretty sharp cedar stick. It stabbed him in between his gum line and his cheek leaving a really big hole in there. We spent 2 1/2 hours at the ER, to find out we needed to see an oral surgeon. So today, Monday, we see the surgeon and luckily for now, we just let it heal on its on. If there happens to be something leftover from the stick (small sliver, ect...) then it will get more swollen and infected. At that point, we would need the surgery. We are just continuing to pray that God will heal him with no surgery, but trusting in Him all the way no matter what.

On a happier note, this is what we had for dinner tonight

Heart shaped choc. chip pancakes, bacon, and milk.
They even had valentine balloons tied to their chairs.

I found a cute idea online for their valentines this year. You won't see my oldest son below, because apparently he thinks he is too old to hand out valentines. I found this idea here.

This is what I started with:

And here is how we finished
They say
You make me snicker
Happy Valentines Day
Tomorrow is weigh in day. I am not looking forward to it. I did workout 3 times last week. But I really over did the eating this weekend and especially today while I was stressed. Maybe having the goal as the end of Feburary to loose 10 pounds, could be a stretch, but I will still take it on as a goal and give myself another couple of weeks.

What I've been doing Wednesdays

Still no sodas, I can hardley believe it. To start off with I'll say that about a year and a half ago, I began trying to loose some weight. I was taking what was suppose to be an all natural pill, Soloslim, and it turnned out to have a few bad side effects. But over the course of about 5 - 6 months, I lost 30 pounds. I decided the side effects were not worth it and I would just have to try some other way to loose weight. Well, I was not successfull. In less than a years time, I have gained 20 of those pounds back. I feel bad every time I get dressed. I just really want to get back down to a more comfortable weight. So I've been trying to watch and be more aware of what I am putting in my mouth. I have been drinking 1 to 2 slim fast shakes a day in place of a meal, drinking more water and just trying not to over eat. So Monday night, I walked 2 miles at home using a walk it off exercise dvd. And again this morning I did another 2 miles. I was a little tired at work this afternoon, and am really tired tonight. My 6 year old wanted to go eat at a chinese resturaunt in our home town before church. So I agreed and we went there to eat dinner. Guess what,........ I over ate and was completely misserable. I've got to stop doing that. Anyway I did weigh myself on Tuesday morning and to keep myself from being embaressed, I will use an x in the number.

My current weight: 1x9

I plan to report on Tuesdays how my weight loss is going.

So this is Peters' mom, dad, brother Vernie, and his daughter Ava. I am introducing them to you, because I am going to be an aunt again on the 15th. Vernie's wife is scheduled to have a c-section on the 15th. Vernie is currently overseas but is scheduled to be home in time for the birth. I will not meet my new little nephew for a while. They live in Georgia(about an 8 hour drive). My nephew will be named Logan Charles Theis. I can't wait to meet him. I am sure he will be just precious!!!

Well, now that I have missed my first couple of days at blogging in a row, it probably won't be so hard to miss again. The goal was to try to accomplish a blog everyday. Oh well. Anyway, here is what has been going on.

  • No sodas for 1 week now YAY!!!
  • Gave in and bought a couple magazines today (although I went all of Janurary without buying any) now no more until April, is that good?
  • Had my first clarinet lesson today (fun and learned a lot)
  • New misson you ready......Loose 10 pounds by the end of the month

I will weigh tomorrow morning at work. By the way, speaking of work, I'm not sure I've mentioned what I do for a living. I am a hairstylist/salon owner. It is my second favorite job. The first of course is being a mom!!!

Yay for Friday!!!

Yay for Friday!!! We were suppose to go out to eat at Crackle Barrell tonight. Some things just never work out as planned. Anyway, on a lighter note, I have been four days with no soda. And oddly enough I haven't had any headaches. The sodas I was having were mostly caffiene free so now I am wondering if I was allergic the aspartame. To fill my void I have been having the crystal light powder things mixed in with my water. So now I am on an extra mission to be sure I am not addicted to anything. No more of those powder add ins. Just plain, boring, old water. (Scream) This is going to be even tougher than I thought.
I played the clarinet in middle school and high school. Since then (moons ago) I play my clarinet on the weekends at church and really do enjoy playing. There are some things I would like to get better at, so I called my highschool band director (Mr. Seiberling) and I will have my first lesson on Monday. He also gave me some homework to do before I come. Wow, this will be intresting. I am looking forward to it I have to say. Happy Weekend Everyone!!!

Our Baby

Introducing Greyson

Last but not least, our baby Greyson Charles. Named after my sweet uncle in Rockingham. Greyson was our big surprise. We were not planning on having any more children at that time, but not totally ready to close the doors permanently. Well the Lord knew all along how precious this child would be to us, and how much more love we still had in our hearts for yet another baby boy! My Greyson!!! He was definetly the easiest baby. I don't know if that is because I had gotten used to being a mom or if he really was just more laid back. He slept through the night by about 4 months old. Greyson had his two older brothers to watch, so right away he wanted to be independent. And knowing this would be my "baby" I was not so anxious for him to be so independent. But I learned quickly that some things weren't worth fussing over. Might as well let him feed himself and dress himself. Greyson loves to play the video game already and loves to be outside on the 4-wheeler taking a ride.
He as well as Canaan has asthyma and allergies. Greyson is, as odd as it sounds, allergic to cold weather. So needless to say, we keep a good epi-pen around him, wherever he goes. At almost 4 years old, Greyson already loves going to church and singing "Jesus Loves Me" and "It's Amazing What Praising Can Do". I pray daily for my three sons that they would all accept the Lord as their savior. Eternity will last FOREVER and I want us all to be together in Heaven with Christ!!!

Second Born

Introducing Canaan

Our second born, Canaan James, named after my dad who has been gone for 13 1/2 years now. Canaan arrived in 2004. Just as precious as ever. Last post about Hayden, I told you he liked to rub our ears, well Canaan liked to rub hair and actually have never grown out of that which I don't mind. Canaan is my snuggler! I remember that he would just out of the blue come and say to me, "I love you Mommy!" Oh how my heart would melt. At 1 1/2 years old we found out that our Canaan has asthyma. We keep inhalers around all the time. He seems to deal with this very well. Canaan's first favorite toys were anything John Deere Tractor style. Now his favorite thing to do is play the video game or build legos. (especially with his cousins) Canaan will soon be 7, my how time has flown. He says he wants to be a dentist and a karate instructor. Those would be just fine with mom and dad. I am told I will get free dental care if I clean his office for him. I will do that gladly! I also pray that this little man will grow to love the Lord with all his heart!

Our First

Introducing Hayden

So here he is, our first born son. I can't nearly begin to describe what it was like when we had our first baby. Such unconditional LOVE. I do remember that Peter would talk to my belly every day while I was pregnant. The day Hayden was born, Peter went over to the table where he was being cleaned up at and Peter spoke to him "Hey little buddy" and immediatley Hayden hushed and seemed very calm. Hayden loved rubbing our ears and he loved his paci as a baby. I think we all spoiled him rotten. Dinosaurs were his favorite toys to play with until about the age of 7. Then he began liking starwars. Today he still likes starwars along with riding the 4-wheeler, playing paint ball, basketball, and football. I am so lucky to have Hayden as my son. He is a precious gift from God and I love him more than he could ever imagine. I pray everyday that Hayden will grow to be a God fearing man and love the Lord with all his heart.
